Job purpose
BorgWarner is seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer who can work within a highly skilled IT Security Team. This position is responsible to implement and maintain cyber-security best practices. Responsibilities include management and configuration of IT security tools as well as a leading member of our incident response initiatives. Additionally involved in security project management, maintaining vendor relationships and analyzing results from security monitoring tools
Key responsibilities
Implement, maintain, and configure IT security tools following industry best practice
Lead incident response activities and triage alerts within IT Security Tools
Identify, document and elevate visibility to information risk, where business direction creates potential for exposure to employee or business sensitive data
Perform detailed analysis of threats and vulnerabilities in all areas of information security including network security, asset security, security engineering, identity and access management and security operations.
Become an advocate of BorgWarner information security procedures, policies, and processes, and standards as a mechanism to enable the business effectively while managing risk appropriately.
Provide enforcement of security policies, standards and procedures by working cross functionally with Compliance and Governance functions within the Corporate Information Security organization.
Know the latest information security technologies, trends, standards, and methodologies.
Assisting in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures and projects
Research and recommend the appropriate tools for security monitoring; implement those tools and processes
Tracking and monitoring of system or network security incidents; coordinating system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
Prepare reports that take note of security breaches and the damaged caused
Configuration and management of IT Security tools, including but not limited to:
CrowdStrike EDR
Proofpoint ObserveIT DLP
Vulnerability Management
Proofpoint PSAT Security Awareness
Accenture Managed Security Monitoring and Alerting
24x7 Incident Response
Security Architecture
What we're looking for:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)
Preferred: A four-year degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in information security.
Required: A Bachelor's Degree with experience in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
CORE COMPETENCIES
3-5 years of related IT work experience required
2-3 years of related IT Security work experience required
Knowledge of Information Systems security architecture, security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of information protection methodologies and concepts, such as identification and authentication, access control, inception and audit trails
Strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of employees, leaders at various levels, and other customers.
Coordination, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills
Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity framework and/or ISO 27001) and risk management methodologies
Knowledge of Endpoint Security tools, DLP tools, PAM, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Passionate about improving security processes and best practices
Preferred experience with CrowdStrike Falcon EDR
