Job purpose
BorgWarner is currently looking for a Product Manager who shares our passion for building an Enterprise Data Analytics platform in the manufacturing space. The ideal candidate will have excellent business customer (product owner) client engagement skills as well as in depth experience in the manufacturing space, ideally with shop-floor analytics tools. This role will work in small, cross-functional teams, interact directly and continuously with business partners (product owners), control engineers, data engineers, and implementation partners to release product content and capabilities early and often. Our ambitions are to enable Charging Forward at BorgWarner and we are in search of innovative individuals to make this happen.
Key responsibilities
Dive in and understand the current state environment from support needs to strategic direction; provide direction, leadership and governance to the existing support environment.
Stabilize existing legacy system environment and drive support model with external provider
Work closely with product owners to understand their product vision and break it down into an actionable prioritized backlog of user stories for the development team
Drive the development team, liaise with other technical partners (i.e., infrastructure, architecture) and other stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and deliver products and software that meets client requirements
Build product roadmaps and perform build vs. buy analysis to develop the long-term strategy for manufacturing systems
Work with purchasing, finance and vendors from contract negotiation through ongoing support
Work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision-making in a decentralized environment
Drive IoT and Industry 4.0 adoption and standardization across business units to improve manufacturing decision making and increase efficiency
Provide business outcomes in the manufacturing space by utilizing data for new use cases such as: preventive and predictive quality, maintenance, improved performance.
What we're looking for
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - The Minimum Requirements We Seek
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, related fields, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience
5+ years of experience with manufacturing systems
Ability to collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business partners
8+ hands-on experience developing, implementing and supporting software products utilizing Agile methodologies
Demonstrated experience in operational technology and equipment technology.
Our preferred qualifications
Experience working with multiple technology stacks (e.g. Azure, PowerBI, PowerApps, Kafka, SharePoint and Java)
Real-world plant/floor experience in a manufacturing plant
