The Opportunity
As the Global Innovation Leader , you will have the opportunity to:
Serveas mentor and provideguidance to multiple teams who are working on first of kind projects for Black & Veatch
Leadproject teams through the incubate and pilot phases; mentorthrough launch phase
Guide development and implementation of vision and strategies on multiple growth initiative projects
Strengthen relationships with key senior management with clients
Identifynew trends, evaluation of emerging technologies, development of new business models, and establishing partnerships with internal and external entrepreneurs

Key Responsibilities
Serves as mentor and provides guidance to multiple teams who are working on first of kind projects for Black & Veatch
Leads cross-business workshops and strategic planning sessions around various topics
Assists in the strategic planning process
Build strong relationships with industry experts and both new and existing customers
Identify and develop new strategies, business opportunities, and technologies that can lead to innovation and consequently growth within a company
Is recognized as a thought leader in the external market, and plays a critical role in business development efforts for assigned growth initiatives
Builds strong relationships with industry experts; strengthens contact network to support growth
Has established network and referral contacts
Provides guidance on development and presentation of proposals to clients
Responsible for reviewing and approving project spend
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in business development and leadership, combining in-depth sales and marketing knowledge with deep operational experience, technical savvy and cross-functional communication abilities.Extensive experience driving sales, managing profit margins, managing teams, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to evaluate and assess potential IP-related partnerships and collaborations to support technology or product development efforts
Experience conducting due diligence on potential licensees or purchasers of IP assets
Conducting IP valuations to determine the potential value of an IP asset for licensing or monetization purposes
Collaborative leadership orientation; is skilled at coaching and mentoring others
Strong communication skills; has an ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form and build trusted internal and external relationships
Demonstrates strategic agility; sees ahead clearly, can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately, has broad knowledge and perspective, is future oriented, can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods
Is a change agent; demonstrates the ability to research, design, and build organizational support for and implementation of programs.
Demonstrates innovative forward thinking; is good at bringing the creative ideas of others to market, has good judgment about which creative ideas work and suggestions will work, has a sense about managing the creative process of others, can facilitate effective brainstorming, and can project how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace
Extensive experience driving sales, managing profit margins, managing teams, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability
Strong analytical skills; has a knack for converting insights into creative actionable recommendations
Strong business and financial acumen
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in law, business, engineering or a related field with past work experience focus on Intellectual Property (IP).
Strong project management skills to oversee IP-related initiatives. Experience in managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies, policies and procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and past work with R&D teams to identify and protect novel technologies and inventions.
Strong business acumen and knowledge of the product development lifecycle to align IP strategies with business goals.
Experience developing strategies for licensing and monetizing IP assets, such as royalty-based licensing or IP sales.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including outside consultants and partners.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate IP concepts to non-IP stakeholders
