Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a BIM Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the BIM 360 management, Revit standards, design support, BIM Execution plan and licencing. The ideal candidate will initiate innovative solutions to increase efficiency in design and production, including implementing custom parametric families and output BOMs and robotic/CNC controls. The candidate will work closely with our in-house Architect and Engineers in residential design and must be skilled with the needs of design documents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for modular construction, automated fabrication systems and parametric design.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will oversee Revit management and user processes:
Oversee BIM 360, design processes and modeling in Revit
Set up templates and standards for use by all disciplines
Lead BIM processes for shop drawing from permit drawings
Assist architect/engineers solve Revit-related issues or needs
Help to create, maintain and change ASMEP models as needed
Creation of advanced parametric families and processes
Set model standards for various design phases from concept to shop drawing
Liaison with Design team, Contractors, and Fabricators
Develop processes for interdisciplinary coordination - Arch, Structural & MEP
Coordinate BOM (bill of material) output with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
Assist/instruct designers in learning new features
Manage software licensing: Revit, Bluebeam, SolidWorks, MasterCAM, FrameCAD
Maintain and enfoce BIM Execution Plan standards with consultants
Assist in the software development of custom Revit plug-in by external team
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
7+ years working with Revit in an Architecture or Engineering firm
Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering (Prof. or Tech.)
Autodesk Certified Professional or similar
Liaison with Client, Design team, Contractors and Fabricators
Thorough understanding of construction documents in ASMEP
Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo and Navisworks; SolidWorks an asset
Clash review, parametrics, custom families, BOM to ERP, VR/Rendering
