Henry H. Smith Co. is a service provider to the Marine industry in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Ontario. We repair, service and sell marine drive systems including propellers, shafts, struts, rudders, and related components. Our customers are primarily marinas and related parts and service providers.
The growing demand for our services has created a need for a person to pick up and deliver products to our customers, including those to the southwest. This service will be provided via a weekly route to pick up any damaged equipment and return repaired or replacement parts the following week. This is a Wednesday through Friday position with the busiest period being May 1st and continuing through September 30th. Our southwest route runs to Joliet, IL, on its western edge, across the top of Indiana as far as Angola and then up into Southwest Michigan as far as Portage.
Compensation: Hourly wage is $13 plus commission. Company provides a suitable vehicle, hotel stay and a $20 per day meal stipend which is reimbursed weekly. Average monthly commission in 2021 was $221.22 and in 2022 was $195.15.
Job requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Must be available three days a week (Wednesday through Friday)
- Must have an interest in boating
- Must have an outgoing personality
