The Cancer Health Service Line at Corewell Health West (formerly known as Spectrum Health) is seeking Hematologist-Oncologists to join our growing team of employed providers in our non-profit organization! Corewell Health's Cancer Center is a collaboration of Corewell Health's network of hospitals, Corewell Health West Michigan and community providers. Our patients and their families benefit by innovative, cutting-edge treatments and state-of-the-art programs and services. We specialize in treating the most complex types of cancers and each treatment plan is as unique as the patient who receives it.
Based out of Grand Rapids, with the opportunity to expand your practice across Corewell Health West Michigan, we invite you to explore the most comprehensive and robust cancer program in West Michigan. This includes more than 150 highly qualified, board-certified physicians representing more than 17 oncology specialties. Spectrum Health is scheduled to launch a Hematology Oncology fellowship training program in 2025
Physician candidates must be board eligible/board certified in Hematology Oncology. Experience with clinical trials is a plus. Opportunity for sub-specialization (sarcoma, Neuro Oncology, and others) is available! Academic appointment at Michigan State University available commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Required Doctorate
LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
