Job Summary
This position is responsible for designing, teaching, and instructing fitness classes held at a Spectrum Health wellness center or other facility. Instructor certification required when applicable to specialty area.
Essential Functions
Be prepared for each class.
Start and finish each class on time, allowing ample time to greet and follow up with participants.
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with each participant.
Communicate with customers and coworkers in order to ensure the highest level of service and customer experience.
May teach individual one on one classes (or) offsite classes as appropriate and directed.
Greets customers internal and external with a smile, direct eye contact, and a pleasant professional voice; gives full attention until the transaction is completed; willing to change to meet your customer's needs; explains his/her role/expectations to his/her customers; connects customers properly to the resources they need. Tells customers what should happen next. Acknowledges service problems (No excuses or blames apologizes for their dissatisfaction; acknowledges customer's feelings). Learns about/from service problems (Listens; Talks; Learns). Acts on service problems (Addresses customer's concerns; designs better solutions; follows up, as needed).
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of relevant experience instruction of the specific designated class area. Preferred
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
