Job Summary
The Project Development Managerfor Utility-Scale Solar will function in a mid-tier project development capacity. You will own multiple utility-scale solar development projects, and there will also be potential to own development projects in the renewable energy and data center space. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage all aspects of a portfolio of utility-scaledevelopment from greenfield origination or acquisitionto point-of-sale.
Build on and improve strategy for the filtering of site acquisition targets to minimize cost and risk.
Crosstrain in data center development if there is need.
Please note: This role has about 20% travel based on project needs. When not traveling, this role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office from any Black & Veatch office in the US.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, quantify, and managerisks and project value within the expectations of Sr. Leadership, equity investors, and lenders.
Manage consultants, external stakeholders, and other third parties(i.e. transmission operators, land owners, etc.) to ensure project success.
Conduct due-diligence and analysis on new opportunities (acquisitions, partnerships, etc.).
Create and manage project development budget and schedule including coordinating with finance team to supply and review project finance model inputs.
Organize and present project information at public hearings when required to obtain local approvals,permits, or incentives.
Coordinate with local utilities to secure utility support for projects.
Management Responsibilities
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of experience with utility-scale solar development.
Proven experience with land acquisition, title, minerals, permitting, environmental, interconnection, and power marketing aspects of solarenergyproject development.
Successful track record of managing complex projects in the solarenergy space.
Extensive knowledge of the full-cycle of utility-scale solar power generation.
Extensive knowledge of interconnection, permitting, real estate, state/federal regulation, utility procurement goals, politics, law and other issues that impact development of infrastructure projects
This experience should be in at least two of the following regional markets: MISO, SPP,ERCOT.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
