Your New Role

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for co-ordinating and assigning activities related to maintenance operations and ensuring that all timing schedules and regulations of the trades are adhered to. The Team Leader supports management and maintenance personnel by acting as liaison in matters regarding policy application, employee relations, and continuous improvement.

As a Maintenance Team Lead you will

• Monitors and supports production schedule and adapts to any changes.
• Reviews concerns and problems from previous shifts.
• Instructs and organizes the department workforce for required daily activities.
• Continually monitors production for breakdowns, or problems.
• Liaison between Material Conveyance Team and Department Leadership.
• First contact for production departments (i.e., E-Coat, Assembly, Rollform).
• Organizes the department daily workflow to ensure activities, tasks and targets are being met.
• Ensures all KPI meetings are being attended.
• Order materials required for repair, modifications, installation, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures.
• Assists with repair, modification, and installation activities with other maintenance personnel (when required).
• Supports daily PM assignments, does follow-up and monitors PM schedule.
• Supports team members during breakdowns, reports, Open Issues tracking sheets and Funnel Cloud entries are being completed.
• Follows up regularly on Funnel Cloud data.
• Builds and fosters teamwork within the department.
• Develops and maintains peer relationships. 
• Ensures employees are trained or certified, as required and participates in training programs as required.

What you will need to be successful in this role

• Minimum 10 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
• Various industrial machinery and equipment, various hand tools, aerial work platforms, cranes, forklifts, office equipment 
• Supports and models the MEVS operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and “How We Work Together”, Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.
• Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (e.g., ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001).
• Follows and adheres to the requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 as required.
• Reviews and assists with implementation of continuous improvement suggestions including environment, people processes and equipment/machinery.
• Comes to work each day, as scheduled.
• Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.
• Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.
