About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (https://youtu.be/H_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About this position:
This position functions as an entry level information technology programmer/analyst performing a full range of assignments commensurate with level. Achieves application development duties including, but not limited to, design, development, enhancement, implementation and maintenance of the UIA applications developed in Visual Studio using VB.Net and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server. The primary area of responsibility is the UIA's Michigan Integrated Data Automated System (MiDAS) modules dealing with UIA's Employer Tax processes of Returns, Transactions and Rating, and Benefit processes of Certifications and Payment.

Position Location/Remote Office:
This position is located in Detroit, MI. This position may work remotely or work hybrid (remote/office). Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or work hybrid must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Signing Bonus:
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
Alternate Education and Experience
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11 - 12
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
OR
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
