About this Opportunity
As a Human Resources Consultant, you'll initiate, implement, and apply HR processes, policies, and practices in a manner that positively impacts business activities. You will provide direct HR support for an assigned client group in the areas of pay administration, talent management, performance management, leadership and employee development, talent acquisition, organizational change, and employee relations.

Act in an advisory role to business management on employee issues and policy interpretation/implementation.
Coordinate and deliver learning and development activities, building competence and improving performance in the work place.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives which enhance the quality and productivity of the direct operational and HR process of the business.
Identify and implement proactive measures to achieve workforce effectiveness.
Investigate and document issues of harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, etc., and recommend/facilitate corrective actions.
Manage the selection and hiring of individuals who best meet the talent requirements of the business.
Participate in and/or manage cross-functional teams or projects related to HR policy, practice, or programs.
Quickly and accurately respond to or seek answers to employee questions and concerns regarding issues of workplace policies, compensation, benefits, development, etc.
Serve in a consultative and decision-making role in the identification of staffing, employee development, performance management, benefits and compensation needs, etc., and identify the appropriate direction and resources for meeting those needs. You'll also implement appropriate solutions.
Survey and test the satisfaction, commitment, and retention of employees, identifying leverage opportunities and developing appropriate action plans.
Work with business leadership members to resolve business and workforce-related issues.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have . . .
A Bachelor's degree in HR, Employee Relations, Business, or a related field.
A minimum of five years successful professional experience in various areas of HR.
Demonstrated knowledge in employment law, recruiting, benefits and compensation, employee development, change management activities, and the HR regulatory/statutory environment.
Proven competency in the following areas: coaching/consultation, communication, conflict management, problem-solving, customer service, initiative, follow-up, and planning and organizing work.
Successful professional experience concerning issues of integrity and trust with a demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
