We are currently searching for a dynamic,Research & Development Engineer - Electrical Qualityto be responsible for ensuring that electrical hardware components and assemblies are consistently manufactured and assembled per engineering design intent.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Work closely with electrical component and assembly suppliers
Ensure all critical inspections are included, method of inspection is clear and acceptance criteria specified.
Review and approve the supplier's in-process and ex-factory inspection tooling, equipment and procedures.
Specify any validation documentation that is to be shipped with component/assembly
Review and approve the supplier packaging of the component.
Work closely with FAC Manufacturing Engineer and Quality department
Assist in the development of the Manufacturing Ex-factory documents.
Ensure all critical inspections are included, method of inspection is clear and acceptance criteria specified.
Review and approve the Manufacturing MPPs. MPPs must provide clear instruction for the assembler to increase the likelihood of consistent and proper assembly on every unit built.
Assure Manufacturing has the appropriate tools and inspection equipment required to perform the assembly and validation of the product.
Specify any validation documentation that is to be filed and/or shipped with the product.
Periodically audit the manufacturing assembly process.
Review and approve shipping dunnage.
Support troubleshooting of electrical products issues that occur during the manufacturing of the component, assembly at FAC or at a customer production site.
Write clear and concise technical reports.
Communicate technical findings to FAC executing groups, customers and FANUC Corporation.
Occasional overnight travel to customer sites is required. Some travel may be required, not to exceed 20%.
Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience writing technical reports and testing and test equipment
Knowledge of electronics, wiring systems, computer architectures and microprocessor-based systems, EMI/EMC - Shielding and Grounding, National Electric Code (NEC)
Knowledge of International Standards is a plus
Preferable CAD skills
AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical is a plus), Solidworks (for Sheetmetal design), Altium Designer (for PCB design) is a plus
Familiarity with XDOCs or other documentation management systems is a plus
Understanding of electrical engineering symbols, conventions and standards
Basic technical skills to support electrical prototype assembly or modifications to prototypes
