Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious, eager Controller to join the team at an well-respected services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Responsibilities
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
CPA/MBA preferred
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
