Short & Simple: This position requires demonstrated leadership skills in the execution of daily maintenance tasks. This includes effective communication, training, follow up and problem solving skills of shift subordinates. Must be able to support all shifts, but opening will mainly be utilized on 2nd shift.

*This facility operates 24/7/365 so weekends & holidays are often required.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist with time management for the completion of daily tasks and priorities. Follow up with subordinates to insure assigned tasks are completed correctly. Insure downtime logs, work orders, time labor hour sheets, storeroom procedures and other assigned documentation is completed.
Keep morale of subordinates at a high level. Be proactive in all aspects of daily activity. Address the concerns of assigned subordinates with assistance of the shift supervisor.
Monitor all company policies and insure compliance is achieved. This shall include GMPs, break/lunch periods, and safety.
Assign work to themselves and crew as prioritized by shift supervisor. Maintain close communication with shift supervisor, department foreperson and supervisors.
Provide training to subordinates to achieve an effective skilled workforce.
Must demonstrate and be able to perform the majority of the Maintenance Technician duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
Four (4) years prior background along with 2 years on-the-job experience in the maintenance of pneumatics, hydraulics, AC frequency drive, electrical controls, instrumentation, schematic reading, welding, mechanical, T/S technique and PLC knowledge
Strong knowledge of Maintenance industry best practices
Plant utilities (ammonia refrigeration, boilers, electrical, compressed air) knowledge
Practical experience with PLCs and automated machinery control systems
Practical experience leading loss control efforts in general industry
Ability to lift 75 lbs from floor to chest (0" - 39") monthly and climb stairs and ladders hourly
Preferred
Strong people management experience, including developing others
Prior food industry experience, preferably in dairy industry
Safety/OSHA knowledge
Familiarity with welding, general construction, electrical, and inventory control processes in Maintenance setting
Knowledge and ability to manage continuous improvement processes such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc
