Job Description Summary
The College seeks a Operations Manager who is responsible for the daily operations of the Ford Center in Alberta in coordination with the Director and other staff.
The Ford Center is in the historic village of Alberta (originally built by Henry Ford) and operated by the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science as a premier field station supporting natural resource education and research since 1954. As an outdoor and environmental education center with full-service conference facilities and lodging we also host year-round, technical training, business workshops, meetings, retreats, and reunions for family, friends, and colleagues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
- • 4-year degree (bachelors) in business, outdoor recreation management, or 6 years of equivalent experience
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
- • 2 years of experience in outdoor recreation, hospitality, education or related sectors
Desirable Education and/or Experience
Experience working in a student/guest focused environment.
Experience drafting brochures and other marketing materials
Familiarity with maple syrup production
Familiarity with Michigan Tech processes
