Job Details

• Full time company employee or Full time contract employee available 
• Day shift availability Monday - Friday and some weekends as needed.

• Tranctor / Trailer experience.

• Must have knowedge of preventive maintenance and DOT regulations.

• Must have at least 1 year of experience working on diesel tractors.
• Expierience with Volvo tractors is a plus.
• Previous expierience using diagnostic computers is a plus.
• State certifications helpful but not required to apply.
• Some computer literacy is required.
• Ability to drive automatic, 10 and 13 speed transmissions for diagnostic purposes .

Valid Michigan drivers  license is required, Valid Michigan Commercial Drivers License w/ A endorsement preffered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Vocational or Technical Certifible and Veteran Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred

• Basic tools, required

• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:

• Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work

• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required

• 1 year or more relevant work experience, preferred

• All other certification as required by location, required

• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,preferred

• ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of 1 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment

• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

• Pass a Drug Test

• Pass a DOT physical

• Pass a road test

• Pass a Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:

• Performs standard vehicle maintenance

• Performs preventive maintenance

• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable

• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

• Replaces defective components as instructed

• Works unsupervised on most tasks

• Performs facility maintenance duties

• Interacts with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.

• Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.

• Works in accordance with all federal state and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).

• Acts as mentor

• Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.

• Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service support
