ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Sets job components (job jacket & ink for all presses, along with tooling {dies & cylinders} for label presses) to support the daily production schedule.
· Stores tooling no longer in use in Remstar.
· Returns job jackets to storage.
· Is proficient in the use of a spectrophotometer and any associated software. Is available to interpret numerical data and make corresponding corrections to meet customer tolerances as necessary.
· Mixes ink, completing drawdowns, and making corrections as necessary for correct color.
· Possesses a clear understanding of what a necessary ink inventory level is and maintains it.
· Assesses and processes returning problem inks.
· Stores press returns and processes low fills.
· Fills and distributes coatings and additives.
· Processes die retools and maintains accurate records thereof.
· Replaces empty ink and varnish drums. Keeps mixing area stocked.
· Maintains accurate records of inks & coatings from raw materials inventory.
· Assists press staff with ink and spectrophotometer issues.
· Maintains proper function of the ink dispenser (cleaning, calibration).
· Audits Remstar for proper tooling storage. Possesses basic Remstar trouble shooting ability.
· Maintains supply area and a proper inventory of individual items as assigned.
· Maintains a neat, clean, & well organized work area.
· Performs other job duties as assigned. Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).
· Must have proficient reading skills
· Press experience or experience in related field preferred.
· Must have basic computer skills.
· Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
· Must be able to work independently
· Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work well under pressure.
· Strong multi-tasking skills are preferred
· Must be able to maintain good attendance.
· Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
· Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
· Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
