About this Opportunity
Develops and executes DID specific communications for the Diversity in Design Collaborative, with a sole focus of supporting the full spectrum of DID Collaborative Communications needs. Focuses on targeted support for the DID Collaborative membership, DID leadership, DID diverse partners, partnering on DID related community outreach communications, and serves as the communications consultant leading planning, execution and the measurement of communications effectiveness. Tactics include aligning externally facing communications, including across multiple social platforms, communications speaking engagements, social content and managing a holistic communications plan for DID.

Proactively position a communications plan and provide support, understand collaborative needs and liaison across all the DID Collaborative, including for DID leadership and targeted audiences, in support of developing and managing communications channels alignment for internal and external audience needs. Connect the dots on behalf of all DID members. As a member of the Marketing team, partner across all HMG stakeholders.
Serve as the primary DID Collaborative communications for aligning plans with the HMG Communications team and Communications teams of DID Collaborative members.
Manages all communications public relations, social, owned.
Prepares communications plans for committees, in support of Committee Chairs.
Manage external communications and partner relationships by working with external communications partners to synergize and maximize opportunities that elevate DID.
Increase DID awareness; serve as a DID Communications Ambassador and at the direction of DID represent the membership at targeted external events.
Manage all DID specific speaking engagements through developing messaging, supporting with scripts, aligning social content needs, and more.
Develop and manage a DID annual master communications calendar and targeted roadmap of content.
Drive recognition of committee progress, across all DID Collaborative efforts.
Manage all DID communications measurement processes.
Sound Like You?
You might be just who we're looking for if you have . . .
Bachelor's Degree Years in Communications, Journalism, English, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong writing, proofing, editing, and word processing skills.
Ability to work in a matrixed environment and reporting relationship.
Skilled in managing a wide range of activities and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Office 365. Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint, Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign preferred.
Proven ability to work in high-pressure situations and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Self-directed, highly motivated, creative, and attentive to detail.
