Job Responsibilities

The successful candidates will perform a variety of clerical support functions for their department or unit ranging in complexity based upon the position. Duties may include opening and sorting mail, receipting and processing payments, filing and data entry, assisting the public over the phone and in person to answer a variety of routine and complex questions regarding legal matters, account information and general requests for information. Work processes require the application of substantive and procedural knowledge of internal and external rules, regulations, requirements and protocols related to the work of the department or unit. Work is performed under general supervision with some latitude for independent judgment and action.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent combined with one year of clerical experience. Exceptional customer service and phone skills as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications are required.
The successful candidate must have the ability to perform in a high-volume environment and utilize effective conflict resolution skills to serve clientele in a tactful, objective manner. Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively with a diverse population is essential.
Coursework in criminal justice, accounting, legal, office management or related fields are highly desired. Some positions may include a typing assessment with a required speed of 40 or 50wpm.
