Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supervising employees within their department. This position plans and assigns work, ensures accuracy and completion of work tasks of their employees, administers policies and procedures, and recommends improvements for production methods, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of bird health and welfare, cleanliness and condition of the barns, ensuring proper maintenance and collection of manure and maintenance of the equipment including feed lines, water lines, belts, scrapers, etc.
Organize workflow and ensure that employees are trained and understand their duties
Delegate work to employees, track progress, and provide feedback through dialog, performance/disciplinary reviews as needed
Maintain the motors and belts used in the manure system
Manage departmental performance measures
Approves employee daily timesheets and PTO requests
Completes and reviews with employees their performance as needed and including 90 day and annual reviews
Follow all company safety practices and rules and ensure the safe use of equipment
Provide reports and updates to management
Other duties as assigned by management
Essential Skills and Experience:
Primarily assigned to a shift but will require flexibility and include weekend and holiday work
Qualifications:
2-3 years' experience in similar role is preferred
maintenance experience, or mechanical aptitude
Degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science or Management, Agribusiness is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete and/or uneven floors
Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25 lbs. frequently throughout the day
May be assigned to environmental areas of high noise, wet floors, dusty conditions, etc.
Working around live animals and the conditions that presents - dust, feather fluffing, organic material, mortality, etc
