Job Description
Position Summary
The Global Industry Director, EV, and Advanced Mobility is responsible for developing and executing the global commercial strategy for the EV & Battery industries. The resource will lead a team of Global Account Managers to sell Rockwell Automation's full suite of products, services, & solutions. The resource is the EV & Battery global industry expert for Rockwell Automation. The resource will implement methods and processes, develop industry application expertise, and deliver market intelligence to key pursuits which lead both direct and indirect resources to achieve success for Rockwell Automation in the industry.
The Global Industry Director, EV, and Advanced Mobility is responsible for increasing sales of Rockwell Automation in the and EV & Battery industries globally, with his/her primary focus on the EV & Battery Global Accounts and other target accounts that are leading each key region globally. Furthermore, the resource will assist geographic sales in opportunistic account and project pursuit within the EV & Battery ecosystem and within the broader industry.
The Global Industry Director, EV and Advanced Mobility is expected to have a full understanding of current customer business drivers, and EV & Battery domain expertise, knowledge of resulting value propositions and applications, and develop key industry executive and industry analyst relationships.
Responsibilities
Hire & lead a team of Global Account Managers & Global Industry Consultants
Define industry strategy, Global Account strategy, data reporting, solution development and roll-out, BSR development and presentation, and industry events.
Lead by example in completing quarterly Account Plan reviews as well as weekly DCRM account updates.
Elevate Rockwell Automation visibility within the EV & Battery industry through participation in industry-oriented professional organizations, trade press, shows, and conferences.
Lead, mentor, and hold accountable account managers assigned to Global Accounts as well as regional strategic and target accounts, assisting with sales strategy and execution, extended team development, performance reporting and relationship development.
Identify, develop, retain, and recruit and EV & Battery segment talent.
Elevate Rockwell Automation visibility within the and EV & Battery industry through participation in industry-oriented professional organizations, trade press, shows, and conferences.
Look for strategic adjacencies to the assigned industry segment, where Rockwell Automation might find new opportunities while also positioning against competition threats.
In conjunction with Industry and/or regional marketing, organize and host events for the EV & Battery customers, i.e., roundtables, field seminars, forums, summits, etc.
Contribute to on-going training for Geographic Sales and Enterprise Account Sales teams in coordination with Sales Enablement.
Analyze trends and strategies of competitors, for inclusion in BSR and feedback to Business Unit (BU) and Sales leadership.
Drive Rockwell Automation and third-party resources to position products to fulfill specific customer needs and close orders.
Advise senior management on future developments and recommended strategies based upon emerging trends in the industry.
Provide Executive Sponsorship to Strategic & Global Accounts.
Provide guidance to marketing teams on the industry specific product and solution requirements and assist in their introduction with associated selling guide.
Ensure sales enablement/competency building framework in place in alignment with industry/segment needs.
Assure complete and timely documentation as required to include but not limited to: monthly progress/status reports, expense reports, trip reports, etc.
Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct, train and motivate subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
Identify and develop the next strategic and global accounts for the EV & Battery industries.
Identify emerging machine builders, system integrators, and end users that are strategically important to Rockwell Automation's position in the global industry ecosystem.
Role Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, technology field preferred.
10+ years of direct sales experience focused on industrial automation & information solutions within the global Automotive EV & Battery industries and ecosystem
5+ years of global sales management experience
10+ years of business development experience.
Ability to work with and gain confidence of Senior and C-Level personnel (internal and external) in a highly collaborative, matrixed stakeholder organization.
Ability to accommodate 35-50% travel globally.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other advanced degree
