Position Description:

Position Summary:
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met by purchasing necessary materials and ensuring product arrives at plant(s) in a timely manner. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the procurement process for respective categories, from planning product purchases to ensuring conforming product is received.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Plan and execute purchase orders with vendors for raw materials and supplies, confirming price and delivery
Maintain appropriate reorder points on raw materials
Update purchasing records for price and other changes
Develop and execute plans to meet or exceed inventory targets
Assist in requesting quotes and sourcing new suppliers
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product is available for production, new product launches and promotions
Lead, assist and participate with productivity projects as opportunities present themselves or as assigned
Develop and maintain MRP systems
Perform additions, general updates and overall maintenance in the system
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality control, distribution capabilities and the suppliers historical performance
Provide analytical data related to supplier performance
Other projects or duties as assigned.

Hourly Pay Rate : Starting at $25 per hour
The compensation range reflects the Company's reasonable expectation at the time of posting. We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program.

Position Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:
2 to 4 years previous work experience in a production/warehouse/manufacturing environment
Minimum 1 year direct experience material planning within the manufacturing industry. Experience with manufactured goods. Experience in CPG highly preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to work 1st shift: 5am -1:30pm - Shift & start times could vary
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Proficient at expediting product to plant as required.
Strong project management skills; planning and executing.
High analytical capability with excellent organizational skills.
Strong PC software application knowledge using SAP/CONA, Excel, Work, Access and PowerPoint.
