Dematic has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer in our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group. Candidates that have exposure to SCADA systems as well as control systems/PLC programming and have a passion for automation will be a great fit for this team! The ideal candidate understands the value of visualizing control systems so that customers can operate production equipment at peak efficiency. Candidates can be based anywhere in the continental USA, but must be open to 40% travel to our customer sites in the United States.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $53,000-$113,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will do in This Role:
Assist in commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
Design, develop, and commission new SCADA systems as well as modify and upgrade existing installations
Assist in PLC programming
Assist in complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
Applies problem-solving skills
Interact with the customer
Travel no more than 40% to customer sites in the USA
What We are Looking For:
BSEE or relevant field of study
Experience in electrical/controls engineering preferred
Excellent communication skills
Experience working with SCADA systems. Iconics & Ignition a plus
Strong desire to work in material handling/automation industry
Exposure to either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs preferred
Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety a plus
Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel
Experience with Object-Oriented Programming a plus. (VB, .NET, Java, Python, XML, JSON, HTML5)
