Job Description
Develop skills through classroom instruction and hands-on training to install, repair and maintain industrial machines including: screw machines, assembly machines, pumps, compressors, piping, electrical components, and control systems.
Perform maintenance and repairs to the facility and equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
Fabrication and welding of metal structures
Responsible for securing, leveling, aligning and the mechanical/electrical hookups during machine installations
Communicate well with operators, engineers, supervisors etc.
Dismantle and reassemble machines needing repairs and overhauls
Read and interpret drawings, sketches, specifications, and instruction manuals
Use hand and power tools and operate and understand support equipment
Ability to work under dirty conditions and in awkward positions while working on equipment and machines
Read and use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
Troubleshoot equipment with or without documentation
Operate and understand the operation of support equipment (air compressor, chip system, wash system, etc.)
Proceed on assignments with minimum supervision and guidance
Maintain a high degree of cleanliness, organization, quality, and safety
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Education and Experience
Diploma or G.E.D.
Journeyman's card - preferred or abiltiy to obtain a Journeyman's card.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to equipment repairs within recognized procedures
Demonstration of a strong work ethic and is a self-starter
Ability to determine causes of machine operating issues
Ability to accurately document work completed and status of job via work order system
Ability to adhere to structured work guidelines and schedules
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to work individually and as a team
At least one-year manufacturing experience or mechanical background
Physical Requirements
Must be able to occasionally lift, push and carry up to forty (40) pounds on an average eight (8) hour shift
Must be able to stand and sit intermittently during an average eight (8) hour shift
Must be able to reach, bend, twist, reach overhead, walk and carry parts
