The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $53,000 to $113,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What you will do in this role:
Strong English communication and writing skills are required.
Strong determination to produce applicable, accurate, and complete technical documentation, with an emphasis on customer-focused operator instructions (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs]) in the government logistics space.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical blueprints required.
Ability to understand complex, technical information and communicate it in practical language.
Ability to follow strict guidelines and apply standards, styles, and templates to ensure common documentation look and feel.
Proficient with various software products used for authoring (e.g., MS Office products, Adobe products, Component Content Management Systems [CCMS]) and ability to quickly learn new software.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, manage time, meet deadlines, and set priorities with minimal direction.
Knowledge of material handling systems (equipment and software) used in a manufacturing/warehouse environment is desired.
Instructional Design/eLearning Development experience preferred.
Experience creating documentation for government agencies is highly preferred.
What we are looking for:
Candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.
Typically, BS/BA in a related discipline. Degree in Technical Communication/Writing or equivalent writing experience required. Training in the documentation for material handling companies.
Candidate may need to pass a government background check.
Two or more years of experience in a similar role or related field preferred.
