Compensation: Starting at $14 per hour

The Logistics Associate is responsible for assisting in receiving and delivering items throughout the Community Action House organization. Each day they assist in coordinating and receiving large items (such as furniture) for the Resale store and food donations for the Food Club and Community Kitchen. This role will consistently serve customers, clients and staff by helping to provide in kind donations to all areas of the organization. While every day will vary, logistics tasks may include furniture pick ups/deliveries, food rescue pick-ups and drop-offs, and assisting in a variety of areas at the Resale store, Food Club and other CAH sites. The associate will work collaboratively with Resale and Logistics staff and volunteers to ensure effective use of in-kind donations and agency resources.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Drive Community Action House vans and trucks to pick up and deliver food as needed from suppliers, food rescue, and retail partners
- Assist the Resale Store Logistics Team with furniture, clothing and in-kind pickups and deliveries
- Ensure customers have a great experience when donating or receiving their items
- Organize warehouse and inventory
- Ensure efficient storage, organization and flow of donations
- Effectively support Resale, Logistics, and Food Rescue needs
- Lift and move heavy items
Qualifications
- Ability to drive CAH vans and 26’ truck
- Valid Michigan Driver's license, Chauffeur License or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DoT) Drug Test as required by law
- Ability to lift heavy items (such as couches and heavy food boxes)
- Ability to work flexibly and be adaptable to various tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask
- Strong work ethic
- Knowledge of the greater Holland community preferred
