As an interventionist, you’ll help students in kindergarten through third grade to become better readers using evidence-based, scripted interventions. With great training and onsite coaching, we’ll prepare you to work one-on-one or in small groups to help kids develop their reading skills and confidence! We are looking for people who have a desire to help kids succeed. Join the team that empowers Michigan kids to reach their highest level of academic achievement in reading and math.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Requires 5 days per week. Position starts 8/14/2023 or 8/28/2023 (depending on the school placement) and ends 6/1/2024 (part time positions also available).
Compensation/Benefits: living stipend of $1,114.67 biweekly (totaling $2,229.34 per month), education award of up to $4,826.50 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses; federal student loan forbearance. Health insurance and childcare assistance is available for full-time interventionists. Interventionists may elect to complete their Michigan Youth Development Associate (Mi-YDA) credential.
Minimum required qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
- Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
- Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
- Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
