This position is responsible for supporting the data and reporting functions that impact Client Services and Operations at Health Net of West Michigan. Data support specialist responsibilities include generating monthly reports, validating datasets, ensuring accuracy, and providing quality assurance assistance to the Health Net Team.  The Data Support Specialist will work as a member of the interdisciplinary Health Net team to analyze data to impact Health Net’s outcomes and bottom line.  

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Develop and interpret reports from multiple systems 
• Validate datasets and ensure accuracy prior to preparing reports 

• Visualize program data in dashboards, charts, and other formats  
• Document standards of work for new reports or data validation methods 
• Identify trends and patterns in datasets  
• Provide quality assurance of entered data, including review of entered data and informing staff and external subcontractors of data entry errors  
• Modify or delete records to correct data entry error, when applicable 

• Create materials and deliver trainings about data entry related to quality assurance efforts 
• Maintain record and monitor status of necessary quality assurance data corrections, with input from staff 
• Assist with evaluation of progress to contractual and programmatic targets 
• Liaise with external partners for data sharing, as directed 
• Tailor reports based on program requirements, contracts, and key data elements necessary for data-driven decisions 

• Prepare and present programmatic data to internal and external audiences 
• Provide support to the Data Action Committee: schedule meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes 
• Participate in Data Action Committee: present data and provide input for data-driven decision-making
