Summary: The Production Supervisor supervises daily duties of production and/or maintenance employees while delivering products as scheduled and cost effectively.
Tasks include; manage ingredient, packaging and labor variances to budget levels, allocate production and maintenance resources to deliver product as scheduled, on time and cost effectively, manage union issues that arise and handle in a consistent and impartial manner, maintain safe working conditions for all employees, and assist in any other activities or tasks as deemed necessary for the continued operation of the business as designated by operations management. Additionally, this position will direct and develop maintenance and operations personnel in areas of responsibility, improve techniques and process in all areas of the operations and maintenance function, and deliver cost savings goals improving the processes.
Requirements: All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post-offer health assessment. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age. Must be flexible with working hours and available for overtime when needed. Experience in manufacturing preferred, with high speed food packaging experience preferred.
Education: High School graduate with some college preferred. Five or more years manufacturing experience in lieu of college experience is acceptable.
Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Power Point. Knowledge of computer applications in the operations and maintenance area.
Communication Skills: Must have ability to work autonomously given specific departmental based objectives and strategies. Requires good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and must be results oriented. Provide formal and informal support and coaching to direct reports as needed to improve performance and/or generate opportunities for further growth and development. Possess strong leadership skills marked by ability to articulate ideas, delegate appropriately, and drive accountability. This position will communicate plant and company goals to operations team. One must communicate across shifts and develop and maintain working relationships with all levels of management in Engineering, Production Management, Material Control, Human Resources and Finance Management.

A successful candidate is; highly motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced environment, proactive in cost savings projects to meet individual and plant goals, provides accurate and timely information when requested, high initiative in problem solving, and understands product cost system. In addition, mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems. Good knowledge of accounting practices is helpful.
Supervisory: This position will be responsible for hourly production employees.
Travel: Approximate 0-1% travel required. Must have ability to tour facilities and grounds.
