Ortho/Total Joint (3E/G - Blodgett)
-22 and 24 Beds
-Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4 to 7 Patients to a Nurse (Subject to Change)
-Population: total care for the general orthopedic patients, medical surgical, as well as the total joint replacements.
-Orientation: Orientation is based on individual needs. The length can vary and be adjusted if needed.
-Why Ortho/Total Joint: We are a unique space that encompasses two units, but is one team. We have a focus for teamwork and a positive attitude among all of our interdisciplinary team members.
Spectrum Health's Center For Joint Replacement has already earned a reputation for hip and knee replacement procedures with results that rank among the best in the United States, including having joint commissions disease specific certification in joint replacement and having one of the highest volume joint replacement centers in the country. We are a renowned program in West Michigan for joints, hip fractures, other fractures, orthopedic conditions, and med/surg patients.
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
Associate's Degree Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017 - SHGR Required
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in this RN role between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 - SHGR Required
Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
NURSING Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan Upon Hire Required
LIFE SUPPORT Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 Days Required
CLINICAL Clinical Area of Specialty Certification Preferred
