- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

- Must be knowledgeable of current nursing practices in long term medicine.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., the appearance of areas, and must perform regular inspections of nursing unit areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of their individuals in the workplace.
- Must follow nursing uniform standards.
- Must be able to handle prolonged standing, bending, and turning.
- Must be able to handle repetitive motion.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing and holding a current Michigan nursing license.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing desirable.
- Evidence of good physical and mental health.
- Qualities of leadership.
- Sincere desire to work in geriatrics and people with chronic diseases.
- Ability to make sound judgment in routine and emergency situations.
- Conduct self at all times so as to reflect credit on nursing profession.
