Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This a temporary or on-call position. Provides a wide variety of consulting services including conference, seminar or workshop design/presentation; operations review and analysis; project design, completion, coordination or management; or related consulting services. Consultants paid on grant funds must be paid on an hourly or daily basis, with a minimum wage of $12.00 per hour. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
Managing chat, breakout rooms and links while the OFTP instructor is leading online discussions and learning activities
Opportunity to lead or co-lead some discussions and peer-to-peer learning activities
Online meeting times for OFTP 2023 are from 9-10am, 11-noon, 1-2:30pm and 3:30-5pm on each of the following days:
3-27-23, 4-3-23, 4-10-23, 4-24-23, 5-15-23, 7-10-23, 8-7-23, 10-2-23, 10-9-23, 10-16-23, 10-23-23, 10-30-23, 11-6-23, 11-13-23
Weekly meetings before each class, (preferably on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Friday mornings) to discuss and finalize plans and schedule for learning activities
Desired Qualifications
- capable with zoom technology and willing to learn now zoom skills or technology as needed
- excitement about teaching through peer-to-peer learning activities
- ability to facilitate inclusive, positive learning experiences for OFTP participants from diverse backgrounds
- experience managing an urban farm or schoolyard garden
- skills or experience with sustainable or organic farming, business planning, marketing farm products, beginning farmer resources and addressing issues of inequality in agriculture and local food systems
- familiarity with the MSU Organic Farmer Training Program
