The physical therapist evaluates patients, establishes goals and treatment programs, treats patients according to diagnosis utilizing therapeutic modalities and procedures as prescribed and indicated, supervises and delegates tasks to supportive personnel, maintains appropriate records, communicates patient progress to physicians and other health care workers as indicated, meets department productivity expectations, accepts responsibility for personal and professional growth and performs other duties as assigned. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area.
This is a position to help cover a full time maternity leave in Douglas as well as other OP/IP coverage needs as they arise for a true VSP position. Minimum Education/Training: B.S. in Physical Therapy. New graduate physical therapist.
Registration/Certification or License Required: Licensed Physical Therapist. Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider Certification (or completed within 60 days of hire). Preferred Education:
Preferred Experience: Prefer one year experience in applicable setting.
Physical Requirements: Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) Occasional keyboard use. Frequent sitting, standing, walking. Continuous twisting, bending, reaching, squatting. Continuous talking, hearing.
Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in English verbal and written skills.
