The Recorder Bailiff, under the general supervision of an assigned Circuit Court Judge, is responsible for maintaining an orderly, judicial atmosphere in various Circuit Courtrooms. An employee in this class provides general assistance to the Judges by delivering case files and related
materials, calls cases into Court, directs parties to proper courtrooms and provides information about Court schedules as necessary. An employee in this class also types various forms and papers used in Court and for filing with Court cases, keeps a daily court log of the actions in the courtroom, prepares various reports required by the Judge, and assists other Court employees. This employee
calls, escorts, and administers oaths to jurors, serves as security guard for the Judges while Court is in session, opens the Court by announcing the judge's entrance, and performs other related duties as assigned.
