Today our propellers are found on the most demanding OEMs including Nautique, Malibu, Tige, Supra, Viking, and SeaRay.
ACME is seeking a full-time General Operator who will perform job duties, such as mold preparation, melt furnace operation, metal pouring, and finishing metal castings, at our foundry location in White Cloud, MI.
General Foundry Responsibilities
+ Operate controls to move or discharge metal work pieces from furnaces
+ Pour, transfer, or otherwise remove molten metal from furnaces, for placement into molds, using crane hoists and ladles
+ Record production data, and maintain production logs
+ Weigh materials to be charged into furnaces, using scales
+ RAM and re-line melt furnace and/or pouring ladles
+ Prepare and build cope and drag sand molds using patterns, flasks, cores, gating and riser materials
+ Operate equipment controls for heating, mixing and dispensing sand into prepared molds
+ Finish metal castings by removing gates, sprues, risers, sharp edges and other projections using a variety of tools, including sledge and pneumatic hammers, cut-off saw, power disc and belt sanding equipment, as well as hand held air operated grinders and belt sanders
+ Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety, being aware of any company related practices
+ Notify manager of necessary repairs
+ Perform clean-up of metal, sand and other material around the work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment
+ Other general foundry duties as required, including moving molds and weights, managing spent sand, tracking inventory of supplies, breaking out molds, loading and un-loading the blast equipment, weld repair of castings, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Requires a general knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of castings and efficient flow of foundry production
+ Operation of heavy equipment, including lift truck, crane hoist, skid loader and other
+ Functional knowledge of basic math and its application is important
+ Working knowledge of machines and tools, including their, uses, repair, and general maintenance
+ Reliable, trustworthy, and good work ethic
+ Prioritization and time management skills
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance
+ Knowledge of English language
+ Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
+ Ability to comprehend written work related documents and instructions
