We are currently seeking a technically capable Business Development Manager that will win and deliver Industrial and Energy projects in the Midwestern U.S. This role will grow existing client relationships and support the identification and development of new clients for Stanley Consultants from our Jackson, Michigan office in the Industrial, Institutional and Energy sectors.
This Business Development Manager will lead a multi-discipline team for Energy projects such as:
Industrial manufacturing facility expansions and new construction
District Energy, steam generation, hot and chilled water production, and distribution
Electric upgrades and additions
Plant and Building MEP design and commissioning services
Combined heat and power
Energy efficiency upgrades and condition assessments
Power Generation and Renewable Energy
Environmental services
Associated studies, technical advisory, and construction services support
Essential Duties:
Achieve new and add-on business with existing clients.
Support the Business Development team with the identification of and positioning with new clients.
Prepare key client strategies for maintenance and growth of services.
Develop and enhance key client relationships and serve as one of the primary company contacts. Provide leadership to local team members in the development of client relationships.
Manage assigned business development resources including supervision of members assigned to proposal teams to meet established objectives.
Prepare and submit proposals and qualification statements.
Obtain approvals of resource commitments, proposed contracts, and fees for consulting engagements.
Participate in client interviews and proposal presentations.
Achieve new business goals.
Participate in regular meetings with Business Development Leadership Team.
Assist with evaluations of strategic staffing hires and subconsultant partners.
Travel as required.
Perform other functions delegated by the Market Leader.
Required skills, education, and experience:
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or specialty field from an accredited four-year college or university with a P.E.
Possess a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience including a history of successful client management resulting in new and add-on business while leading a team of engineers.
