Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all typical duties of a shipping department position. Employee must have prior experience using a personal computer in a work setting.
Knowledge and Skill: Must possess high school level reading, writing and math skills. This job requires the ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Interaction will be required with area workers, Sunrise external customers vendors, office personnel, our outsource carriers, and Sunrise drivers. Good interpersonal skills are needed to operate in and maintain a team environment. Must have sufficient reasoning ability, in order to problem solve with or without oral or written instructions.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The main functions of the job require moving product of all sizes and weights by hand or with some type of cart assistance. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand. Employees are required to walk; reach with hands and arms; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; turning or twisting; pushing; and talk and hear. The employee must repetitively lift, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds. 75 pounds or more must be lifted with assistance. This job is not administrative in nature and requires continuous manual labor.
Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the average dock temperature conditions range from 40 degrees in the cooler months and up to 110+ degrees during the warmer months. One set of winter outerwear is provided to shipping employees, and must be returned upon departure from the department. In warmer months, full length pants are required for safety reasons. Summer evening will often bring in large amounts of mosquitoes and bugs, and employee should take preventive measures if required to repel or avoid bites. Safety glasses are optional in the shipping area, but must be worn at all times (including break and lunch time) once crossing into the plant side of the building.
$15.25/hr. (Plus $1.25 shift differential for Night Shift) and eligibility for $1.00 increase after meeting criteria during 60-day probationary period. EARN UP TO $17.50/hr. in 60 DAYS.
