The Global Product Information (GPI) organization is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables according to the global standards for Dematic products, subsystems, and solutions supported by the Global Products and Solutions organization (GPS).
As a technical writer in the software group, you will be responsible for creating world-class documentation and training material for internal and external audiences across the globe. You will work closely with distributed development teams throughout the software development lifecycle to create reliable, clear, and concise content. You must have a passion for working with engineering teams on highly technical products and making information available to internal and external customers in innovative and engaging ways.
Build strong partnerships with software engineers, product managers, and other experts and stakeholders
Conduct needs analysis sessions to determine the appropriate depth and breadth of content for the various internal and external audiences
Create, edit, and organize technical content regarding installing, configuring, and customizing Dematic software products and required third party applications
Create, edit, and organize functional descriptions used in presentations, eLearning, product overview documents, internal wikis, and online help
Provide input to development teams for improving UI text strings and usability of the user interfaces
Partner with instructional designers within GPI to create engaging learning content
Learn the products and be self-sufficient in using software with simulators and test equipment
Participate with scrum teams to plan and deliver standard deliverables for each software release
Establish a strong feedback loop with experts in each role and continuously improve deliverables
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as English, Professional Writing, Engineering, or Computer science
Minimum 5 years of experience working with technical products (hardware or software)
Exceptional writing skills to produce effective technical content for an engineering audience
Proven ability to plan and deliver work within an agile development process
Proficiency with content authoring, publishing, and multimedia development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
Knowledge of cloud platforms, edge devices, IOT 4.0, KPIs and analytics, and similar concepts
Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
