The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $75,000-165,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
The Engineering Software Manager will be responsible for the management of core project support for vehicle software within Mobile Automation Project Execution. Core projects are a subset of customer projects that follow a relatively consistent workflow and structure. This is to be accomplished by working with the rest of the project execution team and the overall vehicle software manager to provide support for core projects. This role will report to the overall vehicle software manager within Mobile Automation Project Execution.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage a team of software and software test engineers working on core AGV projects.
Evaluate team member performance and provide constructive feedback.
Hire and allocate team members to projects to meet business needs.
Develop and improve training and onboarding materials to facilitate getting the team up to speed quickly.
Develop and improve standard processes that apply to core project work.
Work with external stakeholders (project management, other engineering groups, etc) to plan project work.
Work with the overall vehicle software manager to provide support for non-core projects as needed.
Provide technical support and guidance for team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2 years managing software teams is preferred. Experience managing robotics is a plus.
Experience working with logistics or industrial automation
Strong software development background
Strong understanding of AGILE development practices and how they can be adapted to project environments
Strong people leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to structure and mentor teams
Exceptional communication skills
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to remain calm in tense situations
