The Manager of Commercial Services - Lending will be responsible for providing leadership to the commercial lenders, developing the team to optimal performance. In addition, he or she will function as a lender, developing new and existing business relationships with the overall objective of increasing member relationships and profitability while maintaining and improving asset quality for the credit union. This position supports efforts to meet the strategic goals of the credit union, including providing outstanding service to internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core.

Leadership and Development of Employees
-Manages direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including; monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for promotion, disciplinary action and termination, as appropriate.
-Provide ongoing coaching, training and resources needed to achieve goals. Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure efficiency and achievement of results; establish and drive goals based on assessments and company objectives.
-Develop and expand commercial client base by calling on current members to expand existing relationships and calling on prospects to identify opportunities for new relationships.
-Collect and analyze financial information, initiate loan application requests and coordinate processing and closing of loans. Cross-sell products and services to meet member needs and expand relationships.
-Develop centers of influence and actively participate in community events to generate awareness and business leads.
-Maintain tracking of opportunities, successes, and pipelines.
-Assist members with questions and concerns and resolve member issues that arise.
-Manage existing loan portfolio to required standards, maintaining a high-quality asset base, including timely renewals of loans, monitoring payments and collections, and updating financial information as required.
-Understand and execute to company objectives; support and assist in implementation of strategies for all business lines.
-Interpret short and long-term effects of sales strategies on company performance.
-Collaborate with management team to develop strategies to meet objectives, increase market share, maintain member satisfaction, and improve overall performance.
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Must be able to read and carry out various complicated written and oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
A college degree.
The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to motivate and influence executive-level personnel both inside and outside the company.
Ability to handle escalated member service issues and resolve them in a professional and timely manner.
Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Travel to multiple branches and business member locations is a necessity in this role, requiring a valid driver's license and method of transportation.
Occasional evening and Saturday hours required for management duties and community or company events. Occasional overnight travel may be requested.
