AECOM is searching for a candidate to join the Grand Rapids, MI team as a Construction Inspector.

As populations grow, so do demands for safe, expedient and cost-effective transportation. AECOM's Transportation business line partners with clients around the world to build, modernize and expand transportation projects that carry all of our communities into the future - safely and reliably.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with a team of Construction Inspectors performing oversight of transportation construction projects.
Monitor and record the work of contractors, while tracking progress, materials and quantities.
Verify that safe traffic control measures are implemented, and maintained during construction.
Maintain communication between AECOM supervisors and peers, MDOT and local agency personnel, contractor personnel and the general public.
Develop cost estimates by calculating construction quantities and creating spreadsheets.
Perform field inspections, take field measurements and oversight of material testing on road and bridge construction projects.
Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met.
Learn to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria and using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Record and manage field documentation using FieldManager and ProjectWise software.
Position will require driving to different work sites.
Minimum Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Previous exposure to road and/or bridge construction
Familiarity with Microsoft office suite, word and excel
