Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Program Manager supporting New Product Development to join our Holland HQ team in Michigan.This role could be filled at different of levels based on experience. The work assigned to this position will be determined by level(s) hired.
The 2 levels offered are Program Manager and Senior Program Manager.
As a Program Manager in New Product Development, you will:
Lead a cross-functional team of resources in support of the Product Engineering departmental goals and competitive strategic projects to plan, organize, and implement new products, product line enhancements, quality improvements and cost reduction projects. Follow product line management lead in identifying customer needs and setting project goals to attain needs as project deliverables. Establish team objectives, coach team members, and serve as a facilitator and problem-solver to assist team members with establishing their goals. Provide project updates including timeline, budget, and roadblocks to executive leadership.
Job Responsibilities
Leads cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, project activity identification, and schedule development. Coordinates efforts with other departments to accomplish project objectives.
Oversees project activities to meet identified customer needs, cost targets, schedules, quality levels, and manufacturability requirements.
Establishes team objectives, coaches team members, and serves as facilitator and problem-solver to assist team members with establishing their goals.
Monitors project progress; makes initial risk assessments pertaining to warranty, product liability, contracts, customer commitments, finance, manufacturing, and safety.
Regularly reports on and makes presentations to management regarding team performance, project schedules, budget, performance measures, support efforts, corrective actions, customer feedback, and issue identification to ensure project is on time and within budget.
Follows Product Line Management lead in identifying customer needs and setting project goals to attain needs as project deliverables.
Interfaces with external suppliers, consultants, and agencies providing project support services to develop contractual agreements required by project.
Follows established operating procedures and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to assure all Haworth requirements are met.
Maintains technical and project management competency through reviews of published literature, interactions with academic institutions, consultants, and peers in professional societies to determine competitiveness of product offerings and related trends in industry.
Do you have these required qualifications?
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Program Manager: 8 years experience working in cross functional teams on new product developmentprojects , including 4 years of team leadership
Senior Program Manager: 10 years experience working in cross functional teams on new product development projects, including 5 years of team leadership
Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, up to 15% of time.
Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to work onsite and commute to Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Experience working on projects specific to New Product development.
Previous office furniture experience.
Experience leading projects for an OEM that both develops and sells product.
Experience presenting to leadership teams
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
Knowledge of manufacturing business practices and systems.
Experience presenting to executive leadership teams.
Excellent inter-personal, team-building, and written
Experience in early product ideation, translating customer needs into product and leading a team through the project.
