About the Sr. Training Specialist Job
Job Summary
The Sr. Training Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of the plant's training program and initiatives. This position will assist in the planning and coordination of operational and functional area training with a focus on driving the skilled and semi-skilled training program. Will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and be responsible for the management of the Learning Management System (LMS). Also will partner with the site leadership team to identify SMEs to assist with the execution of hands on training. Will provide leadership, guidance, and follow-through to support the completion of departmental sustainment goals and objectives by delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale. Will be expected to provide training support to multiple sites within a given footprint, be a leader and SME and provide coaching/mentorship and training within the training team.
Key Responsibilities include:
Creates of training plans, documents, materials and reports
Facilitates Train-the-Trainer courses and events
Works closely with Plant Leadership to develop and/or expand the skilled and semi-skilled training program
Ensures employees are progressing through skilled and semi-skilled training program
Coordinates training and sign offs of employees as they begin and progress through skilled and semi-skilled training programs
Develops, maintains, and coordinates the operational and functional area SMEs in order to ensure effective training
Maintains training documents and materials at the site regarding training programs
Ensures all employees and leaders at the site are assigned and complete training in accordance with the training plan.
Tracks and reports status of training priorities and initiatives
Facilitates specific and targeted training at the Site level
Analyzes data to identify Kaizen opportunities
Facilitates Point Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements
Participates in Full Week Kaizen events
Establishes and drives productivity pipeline roadmaps across departments and facility
Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a training or training related position
Highly skilled in the use of a LMS, Alchemy LMS / Coach preferred
Knowledgeable in foundational training methodologies
Working knowledge of CI methodologies and tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, highly skilled in use of Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong self-confidence and strong will to drive change
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy
Must be accurate, detail-oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.
Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and management and establish and maintain harmonious working relations with employees and management from all levels.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
