Creative Composites, Inc., an AS9100-registered designer and manufacturer of Advanced Composite structures, of Rapid River, Michigan has an opening for a Manufacturing Technician.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), including paid holidays and vacation, company-matched retirement, company-provided AD&D insurance, and health-insurance reimbursement.
We have a flexible and varied work environment servicing customers in the Automotive, Aerospace and Defense industries.
Candidates are desired to have experience in the following. Will train if necessary:
• Automotive bodywork repair and finishing/painting.
• Working with various hand tools such as scissors, palm sanders, adhesives, drills, rivet guns, fasteners, wrenches, precision measuring devices.
• Various liquid resin processes such as VARTM, RTM, Light RTM.
• Compression Molding of Epoxies, Vinylesters and Phenolic Prepregs.
• Mold fabrication.
• Layup of dry fabrics and prepregs, as well as use of tackifiers.
• Preforming of fabrics.
• General understanding of resin systems for part and tooling manufacture.
• Adhesive bonding of structural composites.
• Process monitoring (temperature, pressure & cure).
• Reading dimensioned and noted drawings.
Responsibilities will include:
• Interfacing with other departments in the company to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist in building tooling and manufacturing aids with input from Engineering.
• Laying up structures using reinforcements such as fiberglass, Kevlar & carbon fiber.
• Molding parts using liquid molding processes or prepregs.
• Ensure Preventive Maintenance tasks are performed.
• Participate in Product Development Team functions to develop production plans.
• Follow established Quality Control Procedures, including making sure documentation is correct.
