We are looking for machine set up leads for a company in the Grand Rapids area. These individuals will be in charge of performing set up procedures and safe operation of the machines within the shop. The ideal candidates will be flexible and able to work with groups or on their own throughout the day. We are looking for long-term workers at this time with the ability to get hired on permanently to the company. Job Duties:
- Safety
- practicing MIOSHA safety guidelines
- practice lockout/tag out procedures
- look for safety hazards and make sure coworkers are working safely
- establish a full and thorough understanding of the machinery that you will be working with
- Machines
- will be working with resistance welders and presses
- comfortable working with/being trained on each type of machine
- Set Up Procedures
- setting tips and dies, controlling gaps, and adjusting settings
- using stops
- setting guards, maintaining gaps between electrodes/tips and dies, and maintaining fixtures
- Other duties
- filling out and using paperwork
- performing hourly checks on your set up and operators
- making sure your operators are staying on task and have a thorough understanding on how to perform each task
Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Able to be on your feet for a full 8 hour shift
- Pay attention to detail
- Perform repetitive duties
- Follow directions - ask questions if needed
- Be on time and ready to work at the beginning of each shift and after breaks
- Able to stay on task
- Be a good role model for the team
Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $17.00/hr.+ DOE
