Lead a set of highly responsive regional Design and Estimating teams responsible for quote management, design, and estimation of a wide range of Dematic solutions.
With the primary purpose of:
Ensuring Dematics Solution Development team has the capabilities and scale to meet the Systems Engineering demands of the organization
Use of systemic methods of validating material handling automation solution technologies to ensure Dematics capabilities are appropriately matched to the customer solution.
Ensures the proper operation of the systems engineering function leveraging DEMATIC Global best practices to develop competitive and executable solutions.
Ensure the right resources and talent are assigned to and successful in completion of engineering and estimating of customer opportunities
The Senior Manager will work in Dematics Solution Developmentdepartment at our office in Grand Rapids, MI, Dallas, TX,, or Atlanta, GA locations. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director, Solution Development North America. Additional Dematic field office locations will also be considered.
What You Will Do
DEFINE & DRIVE OBJECTIVES
Aligning team skills, experience, knowledge, processes and tools to support Dematics business
Be a key Contributor to Annual Strategic Planning, Business plan and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), of the Solution Development function
Translate organizational objectives into team OKRs, strategies, tactics, budgets and KPIs to fulfill the vision, mission, objectives and annual business plan.
Establishes and maintains Operational Cadence
Identify and resolve team level workload, assuring Must Win projects are properly staffed with the right talent
Anticipating, preventing and driving continuous increase in productivity, value and relevancy for functional services problem-solving efforts for project, team and process performance using LEAN methodology
MEASURE QUALITY & PERFORMANCE
Develops and continually refines the engineering and estimating function to assure the most competitive costs are achieved while keenly managing risk.
Measuring, reporting and holding team accountable for performance in % close rate, % on time delivery, % team utilization, skill development, throughput validation and quality deliverables
DEVELOP the TEAM
Coaching, mentoring, hiring and training a management team while consistently modeling Dematic and KION values and leadership competencies
Planning, requesting and justifying staffing and training investment aligned to business needs
COMMUNICATE VISION, VALUE & NEEDS
Ensures alignment of regional teams to the prioritization set forth by regional sales leadership.
Presenting the vision to the team, motivating them to be the industry leaders by living out our Dematic mission and providing monthly updates to staff
Presenting value to Sales through the transparent, consistent and competitive estimation of solutions.
Primary Communication champion of solution needs to the Dematic Global Products and Solutions Management, Partnership and Procurement teams to meet market demands
Primary Communication champion to the Dematic Global Community in establishing best practices around the engineering and estimating function.

Must be extremely knowledgeable with the innerworkings of a Distribution Center

Proficient in estimating with modern tools
Bachelor's Degree required.
Willingness to travel 10-25%
