Fick & Sons in Grayling is looking for an Assistant Store Manager.
This position is responsible for proficiency in all areas of a retail operation. The position serves as second in charge of operations to the Store Manager. Duties include providing leadership and direction to the store team, ensuring a positive customer service experience and performing operational activities throughout the store and giving appropriate direction to the store Team Members.
- Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime, as dictated by business needs.
- Identifies training needs and provides ongoing training to the team as needed.
- Operation of cash register and computer.
- Facilitation of Store Operations including driving/handling sales, cash management, inventory, and customer/employee follow up.
- Prepares Team Members schedule.
- Assists the Store Manager in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Monitors ATM and lottery machines.
- Monitors and adjusts gas prices as needed.
- Prepares bank deposits, reconciles daily receipts, resolving any variances.
- Prepares change for the cashiers drawer daily.
- Ensures that sales of beer, spirits, tobacco products and lottery tickets comply with state and federal age requirements.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience - Previous retail leadership experience is required.
- Education - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Language - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data.
- Mathematical - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, margins and volumes.
- Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer - Individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, order processing systems and bookkeeping software.
- Physical - This position is non-sedentary. It is essential that you have the physical and mental stamina and ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely, to operate all equipment related to this positions job duties efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.
