We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Validation Technicianto join our growing Automotive Team at our facility in Detroit, Michigan. We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.
In this role, you will report to theValidation Managerand execute work plans, using equipment and process methods for validation to meet the Company's product validation needs to maximize the use of regional validation capabilities. Ensures work efforts are completed to schedules to meet program validation needs in support of timelines.
Support company vision/mission beliefs, behaviours and safety vision
Perform validation of product using equipment, processes, facilities, and services to meet requirements for program/project teams in a safe and timely manner.
Specifically EMC, Environmental and Electrical tests in Test Lab
Work with validation staff members to propose improvements that will reduce validation time, costs or increase throughput using existing resources.
Provide validation execution in line with the Product Design (C2P) delivery process.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop validation plans. Perform tests in support of validation plan and provide results to product development teams.
Support root cause investigations for part validation concerns, and warranty returns.
We're looking for someone with:
High school or College Technology degree in electrical, electronics, or mechatronics.
1-2 years in automotive part testing, building or validation.
Working in team environments to ensure alignment to global beliefs and behaviours.
Knowledge of automotive customer launch processes is an asset
Must be familiar with and be able to read/understand technical information received such as specifications, test methods, processes, etc.
Good communications skills and strong organizational skills.
Practical electrical, mechanical or mechatronic skills to make simple upgrades to tests methods as needed.
Good problem-solving skills and technical skills related to creating validation methods and adapting validation methods to meet changing testing needs.
Experiences in EMI.CTI/CTE/ESD test equipment, Temperature chamber, and shaker system an asset
