GDIT has a FANTASTIC JOB OPPORTUNITY! We are seeking a Junior Enterprise Architect to support a federal agency in the development of an Enterprise Architecture baseline and target architectures, transition strategies, and Enterprise Architecture and Technology roadmaps
Minimum/General Experience :
Requires at least six years of general experience in information systems, including four years of specialized experience providing state-of-the art solutions in information systems technology (or, if the particular area of expertise is new state-of-the-art technology, the specialized experience may be less than four years and more consistent with the age of the technology).
Performs highly specialized and technical tasks associated with the most current and cutting-edge technologies. May serve as a technical consultant to a project or a number of projects dealing with area of technical expertise. Must have knowledge of and some experience with the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), developing business cases, and Technology Architectures.
Functional Responsibility :
Provide expert, independent services and leadership in specialized technical areas. Provides expertise on an as-needed basis to all task assignments. Provides expert advice and assistance in state-of-the-art software/hardware. Coordinates with contractor management and Government personnel to ensure that the problem has been properly defined and that the solution will satisfy the Government's requirement. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Support the development of baseline and target architectures, transition strategies, Enterprise Architecture and Technology roadmaps (once a year)
Support the development of business cases and feasibility studies to evaluate technology/tools, and implement perform proof of concepts (POCs), pilots to research new and emerging technologies and modernize systems
Assists in documenting the processes for architectural governance, design patterns, and IT practices\
Maintains the baselines for the systems inventory, system security plans, system software and hardware catalogs. Maintains the baselines for the data catalog and dictionary for all approved data marts.
Designs and creates an EA repository
Assists in the development of an IT asset management centralization plan and helps establish the baseline inventory of all assets purchased, deployed, or in use across the agency.
Implements processes to maintain, track, and analyze software and hardware inventory data (using existing tools e.g., Big Fix). Analyzes inventory data to ensure compliance with purchase agreements, consolidate redundant applications and identify other cost-saving opportunities
Helps to ensure compliance with OMB, General Services Administration (GSA) and GAO and Enterprise Software Category Team (ESCT) reporting requirements

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS, 10+ years of experience
