About the Software Sales Manager role:
The Software Sales Manager is a key member of the Sales leadership team. This position is responsible for establishing best practices for AQI municipal technical sales executives and ensuring all sales are defined, communicated, and recorded by the sales team in a timely fashion in accordance with customer requirements and AQI business needs. This position requires working collaboratively with our sister company, Hach, through a team selling approach.
Manage the municipal Technical Sales Executive (TSE) team that supports the Hach Channel by introducing strong sales processes, supporting the development of a full pipeline of qualified opportunities, motivating the sales team, resolving conflicts and removing barriers, and providing recognition in the pursuit of the achievement of sales revenue and profitability
Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of the Company's municipal market, including industry, marketplace, strategies and trends, competitors, and competitive tactics to develop an effective long-term sales strategy and plan
Directly develop new market segments, and engage customers and partners at the executive level
Recruit and manage a team of high-caliber technical sales talent (Direct)
Drive the team towards expected sales objectives and customer satisfaction levels
Facilitate the individual growth and development of the team by setting objectives, performance standards, and priorities, coaching, and acting as a role model on sales approaches and account leadership
Responsible for the creation, execution, and reporting of quarterly and annual sales forecasts as it relates to the technical sales functions
Ensure strong collaboration with Hach Channel to develop an adequate pipeline of opportunities and effective lead generation strategies for rapid growth
Manage, track, and report on customer and prospect information in the Company's Saleforce.com CRM system
Are you qualified?
Post-secondary degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5+ years of experience with B2B and B2G sales
3+ years of experience building and leading a successful sales team
Direct experience selling enterprise software and SaaS solutions to municipal governments
Experience developing new market segments and engaging customers and partners at the executive level
A self-starter and team player who is motivated to succeed
Experience with team-selling approaches
Proven track record of closing deals, consistently exceeding sales targets, and consistently achieving sales forecasts
Preference for candidates with direct experience selling hydrology, water quality, and/or water resource management solutions
Ability to learn new software applications quickly
Demonstrated independent, results-driven work ethic
Proven track record leading a successful sales team
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills
